Come join us for a morning full of culture, fun, and exercise for family and friends. The Spirit of the Tribes 5K is a fundraising event for UC Riverside student scholarships. There will be three races; A 5K Run/Walk, 1K Kid’s Fun Run, and a 1/2K Kid’s Fun Run. The Spirit of the Tribes 5K Run/Walk traverses throughout the UC Riverside Campus giving a tour of the campus for all the 5K participants. Overall, the course has some inclines, up hills, down hills, and flat areas. Sign up as an individual or recruit your friends, family, or co-workers to join you on a team of 5 individuals.
Volunteer-Community Service Opportunity!
Volunteers are welcomed! If you are part of an organization/club or if you as an individual would like to volunteer, please contact joshuag@ucr.edu or call
(951) 827-4143. We can always use a helping hand. We will need volunteers registration booth, water stations, course guides, participant supporters, etc...
Getting Sponsors
Set a fundraising goal and ask everyone you know to sponsor you in the 5k run/walk. Please ask sponsors to pay when they pledge. Your sponsors can pay by check payable to UC Regents and note Spirit of the Tribes 5K. All participants who turn in $30 or more in pledges or teams that turn in $150 or more in pledges will have their registration fees waived. Sponsor forms and all pre-paid pledges must be submitted by Monday, November 10, 2008. *Pledges not required to participate.
Community Service Fair
There will be informational booths available for all participants to learn about what’s going on in the community. If you are involved with an organization or community projects and are interested in having an informational booth, please contact joshuag@ucr.edu or call (951) 827-4143 by Friday, November 7, 2008.
Awards
Individuals: Prizes and medals will be given to the 1st male and female finishers of the Runner and Walker categories. Medals will be given to the Top male and female finishers of each age division.
Teams: A special prize will be awarded to the 1st place team in the Runner and Walker categories.
Entry Fees
Individual Runner/Walker: $15 Before Nov. 15, 2008/$20 Race Day
Teams (5 Individuals): $65 Before Nov. 15, 2008/$80 Race Day
1K and 1/2K Kids' Fun Run: $10 Before Nov. 15, 2008/$10 Race Day
